EVANESCENCE
Blinded by the Mean
by Gab Padilla
Dear Eula,

In a world driven by numbers and statistics, many misinterpret these metrics as the ultimate truth or the norm. Averages, in particular, act as deceivers, obscuring the truth in favor of conformity and unity. When people gravitate towards the average, it often signifies a desire to occupy a middle ground, avoiding scrutiny by blending in. They hide their truths behind this mask of averages, thriving in the crowd while concealing their pain and stories. As you aptly described, this "tyranny of the mean" not only marginalizes the few in favor of the many but also compels the few to conform. In a world where every voice matters, we often seek safe spaces, masking our true selves when we should be embracing our individuality and sharing our unique experiences.
Sincerely, Gab
